Third Wednesday April Third Thursday October (E)
The Old Wykehamist Rose Croix Chapter was consecrated on Wednesday 6thMay 1914 with twenty founding members and seven Perfectees. It followed the establishment of the Old Wykehamist Craft Lodge in 1912 and the Public Schools Rose Croix Chapter 181 in 1913.
The Chapter was originally restricted to Old Boys of Winchester College (Old Wykehamists) but with a serious decline in membership during the 1990’s discussion revolved around either handing in the Chapter’s Warrant or opening its doors to allow others to join. As the by-laws did not actually require members to be Wykehamists, Old Carthusians and relatives of Old Wykehamists were soon welcomed into the Chapter. Membership now stands at 35, including two members of Supreme Council, and we have a steady flow of Perfectees.
The Chapter meets twice a year at 10 Duke Street and we welcome visitors to our meetings, priding ourselves on our ritual, which is then followed by excellent dining.
