The Supreme Council 33˚ of the Ancient and Accepted Rite was formed under a Patent issued by the Northern Jurisdiction of the USA which was dated 26 October 1845.
Its Chapters are organised in Districts in England and Wales as well as overseas. One anomaly to this system was London and until 1981 its Chapters, numbering 89 today, were unattached. In 1981 it was decided to organise them into 5 Groups operating under appointed Inspectors General who were installed at 10 Duke Street London during March and April of that year, where every Chapter meets.
